Storage Units are Home to Sometimes Unexpected Treasures
No this is not an episode of Storage Wars, but our customers have stored some pretty interesting items in our units! And, it is pretty safe to say, if you don’t have room for it in your house or garage, we can most likely fit it in to one of our convenient storage units.
There are popular stories about items found in storage units. Here are some of our favorites:
- Actor Nicolas Cage is an avid comic book reader. His copy of Action Comics #1, worth over $1 million.
- The Lotus Submarine car that was used by Roger Moore in The Spy Who Loved Me turned up in a storage container in Long Island in 1989. Did you know Elon Musk later bought that 1976 Lotus Esprit for $1 milllion?!
- In actor Burt Reynolds’ personal storage unit, these items were stored: horse carriage made by Dolly Parton, a doctor’s note detailing Reynolds’ spleen surgery in 1955, the canoe from his 1972 film Deliverance and a Smokey and the Bandit toy car.
- In a storage unit previously owned by Michael Jackson’s dad, over 250 undiscovered and unreleased recordings of MJ.
- Original Queen Elizabeth Beanie Babies (worth $12,000 – $18,000 each).
